Sutherland “Goes Green”

Sutherland Global Services recognizes its corporate responsibility towards preserving and protecting environmental resources and has implemented sustainable business practices that continue to have a positive impact on the environment. Some examples include:

• Use of recycled paper and stationary in all its facilities.
• Energy efficient thin client PCs, LCD monitors and electrical equipment throughout different facilities
• Recycling bins located throughout various Sutherland facilities
• Recycling bins in NY facilities for the collection of old toners & ink cartridges, lap top batteries, cell phones etc
• More than 70% of Sutherland facilities are existing buildings and many of our facilities are in reclaimed/development zones
• Wastewater in Sutherland’s India facilities is treated and reused on site
• Sutherland provides mass transportation for the majority of our associates reducing the impact of vehicular pollution
• The Sutherland ECOE Squad (Employees Conserving Our Earth) has been implemented to support community events including park clean ups.

Sutherland has also partnered with Imagine It fundraising in NY to provide a means to recycle old cell phones, ink cartridges & PDA's while raising money for the Make-A-Wish charity. The charity, which focuses on enriching the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions, was selected based on the results of a companywide employee survey and Sutherland's charitable mission to stand firmly behind causes and technologies which foster, support and assist in advancing Global Youth.

This collection drive has been implemented in Sutherland’s U.S. locations and receptacles are now located in the break rooms of each facility. Make-A-Wish will receive up to $1.00 for inkjet and $5.00 for laser cartridges recycled by Sutherland employees.
