The Challenge

McLane Company, Inc. is a leading US supply chain services provider for grocery and foodservice solutions, serving retailers, convenience stores, and restaurants nationwide. Founded in 1894 and headquartered in Temple, Texas, McLane operates one of the largest private fleets and a vast distribution network, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods.

Our client faced significant challenges in maintaining seamless user experiences due to the complexity of integrated systems that relied on multiple APIs and databases. Additionally, they struggled with the inability to convert existing test scripts into a more maintainable and executable test automation regression suite. To optimize system performance and ensure reliability, the primary goal was to establish an automated regression suite for APIs.

The Solution

We conducted a gap analysis and refactored the existing test suite to improve efficiency. This led to the onboarding process becoming 80% faster compared to other scripted tools, which significantly reduced test script setup time and increased test automation coverage.

We then implemented automated test data management and enabled continuous testing across both web applications and APIs. Integration with the Bamboo CICD tool allowed for seamless, continuous testing of releases, using various tags like Smoke, Sanity, Regression, APIs, and Database, with execution results directly in Bamboo.
