Client Overview
A global leader in oil & gas production and supply, with complex operations across multiple business units, sought to unify its processes through a single ERP cloud platform. To drive consistency, reduce silos, and enhance operational transparency, they engaged Sutherland for a full ERP modernization.
The Challenge
Fragmented Processes and Limited Visibility Across Units
The client used disparate systems and local process variants within different business units, which created operational silos, inconsistent reporting, and governance challenges. They needed a unified, cloud-based ERP platform to harmonize processes, enforce corporate standards, and unlock real-time insights across finance, HR, procurement, and performance management.
Sutherland Solution
Full-stack ERP Cloud Deployment With Business Process Redesign
Sutherland led discovery workshops and AS-IS process mapping, then co-created a future-state process model aligned with corporate policy. The team configured and deployed Oracle SaaS modules covering Cloud Financials, HCM, Procurement, EPM, and project portfolio management. Gap analyses, custom reporting, and integration with third-party systems were built in. Extensive user acceptance testing (UAT), conference room pilots (CRP), and a hyper-care period ensured a stable transition to the new system.
The Outcome
Unified ERP Cloud Delivers 89% Faster Provisioning and Streamlined Operation
Sutherland successfully launched the first phase of the client’s new ERP cloud system, on time and within budget. This initial phase covered key areas like financials, human capital management, procurement, and enterprise performance management. After the system went live, the client saw a remarkable 89% reduction in automated provisioning time. This demonstrates much faster and more reliable operational execution, a key digital outcome. With this solid ERP cloud foundation in place, the organization now benefits from harmonized business processes across all units, improved reporting and governance, and the capacity for scalable digital operations to support future growth.
