Dr. Graham Hughes

Chief Executive, Sutherland Healthcare

Dr. Graham Hughes serves as the Chief Executive at Sutherland Healthcare. He provides global leadership for operations, sales, management and strategy for the company. Dr. Hughes is responsible for the overall execution of the company’s growth plan, expansion of strategic partnerships, as well as the design and realization of the company’s strategy and vision.

Dr. Hughes is a physician with more than 30 years of US and international experience leading teams in the development and delivery of innovative healthcare IT products and services. Prior to being named the Chief Executive, Dr. Hughes came to Sutherland Healthcare as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Global Analytics. Before joining Sutherland, Dr. Hughes served as Chief Medical Officer for SAS Institute responsible for strategic portfolio planning and leadership of the Center for Health Analytics and Insights, an incubator group for creation of new advanced analytic offerings. He has also held senior strategic and operational roles at GE Healthcare IT, leading the advanced technologies innovation team, as well as spearheading the annual strategic planning process for GE’s enterprise portfolio of IT products.

Dr. Hughes holds a B.S. in Developmental Neurobiology and earned his medical degree, from Kings’ College Hospital in London. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington with his wife Heather.

Ranjit Pisharoty

Chief Operating and Delivery Officer, Sutherland Healthcare

Ranjit Pisharoty is the Chief Operating and Delivery Officer at Sutherland Healthcare. He is responsible for driving service delivery excellence across Sutherland Healthcare’s multiple lines of businesses as well as the healthcare IT services and platform solutions. He manages the overall delivery of services to more than 75 clients with employees spread across the globe in the US, India, and Philippines.

Previously, as part of the Sutherland leadership team, Ranjit was responsible for strategically integrating the back office processing solutions in multiple verticals with the core Sutherland suit of front-office customer experience management and customer interaction/support services. He has worked in multiple leadership capacities, including setting up global transition planning and execution group, process innovation group, platform engineering services, and global process standardization initiatives.

Mr. Pisharoty has over 35 years of experience in operations management, technology management and innovation, platform solutions, process re-engineering, solution design, R&D, and strategic expansion. Prior to joining Sutherland, he served as the President and Chief Technology Officer of Lason India, where he was part of a two-man leadership team that built one of the largest third-party healthcare data processing companies in India.

He completed his undergraduate education with a Bachelor’s in Technology from the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka. He went on to pursue a Master’s in Electrical and Controls Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras. Mr. Pisharoty currently resides in Jersey City, New Jersey with his wife.

Tom McCormick

Chief Commercial Officer, Sutherland Healthcare

Tom McCormick is the Chief Commercial Officer of Sutherland Healthcare. He is responsible for developing long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with Sutherland clients, as well as expanding on our existing solutions. Prior to joining Sutherland, Mr. McCormick served as a Senior Vice President at Xerox where he was responsible for the growth of the Government Business that focused on Medicaid services, a $1 billion vertical that provided solutions to 36 state Medicaid programs, multiple healthcare payers, and served over 72 million Americans.

While at Xerox, he also served as the Vice President of Emerging Markets and Vice President of State Government and Federal Business Development. In these roles he was responsible for strategic partnerships and sales of healthcare solutions to various State and Federal Agencies including Health and Human Services, Veterans Administration, FEMA, and the Federal Employee Program. Before Xerox, Mr. McCormick was responsible for APS Healthcare’s entry into Disease Management.

He is a national healthcare expert who has presented at national conferences. His work has led to many industry awards for programs designed by the DMAA for “Best Public Programs” for the State of Wyoming.

Mr. McCormick has won numerous industry awards, company awards, and community awards; he was named to Milwaukee 40 under 40 by the Business Journal. Mr. McCormick currently resides in Delafield, Wisconsin with his wife and five children.

Karen Pugh

Head of Compliance, Sutherland Healthcare

Karen Pugh is the Head of Compliance at Sutherland Healthcare. She is responsible for leading a program that ensures compliance with applicable healthcare laws and regulations, as well as internal Sutherland Healthcare policies and procedures. She conducts investigations and risk assessments, develops and delivers compliance and privacy training, and implements risk mitigation initiatives.

Ms. Pugh has over twenty-five years of experience in the healthcare industry, including eighteen years of success in creating, leading, and transforming compliance functions within a variety of healthcare organizations. Prior to joining Sutherland, she developed the compliance program at the University of Alabama Hospital and served as its’ first Corporate Compliance Officer. Before this, Ms. Pugh was appointed Corporate Compliance Director for BJC HealthCare, providing leadership for compliance operations of the multi-healthcare system affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis.

She completed her undergraduate studies from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a focus on management engineering of health systems. She went on to pursue a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ms. Pugh also has a degree in Law from the University Of Florida College Of Law and completed her educational career with honors.
