Sutherland to Expand its Business Operations in Egypt
The company agrees with Egypt’s ITIDA to add 750 jobs in Alexandria with promising plans to open new site in Cairo.
Dubai, UAE - Alexandria, Egypt – October 16, 2018 – Sutherland, the process transformation company, today announced a 3-year agreement with Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to grow its business presence in Egypt and expand the service portfolio offered to the region.
According to the agreement, which is signed on the 3rd day of Gitex Dubai 2018, Sutherland will add more than 750 full-time jobs in its service delivery centre in Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt.
The centre, which was opened in 2010, provides a full range of integrated back-office and client facing front-office services to the company’s clients in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, and North America.
Egypt has a broad base of skilled, multilingual professionals, making the country an attractive and low-cost hub for multinational BPO companies and IT service providers with global operations and services in the EMEA region.
“Egypt has been taking all the right steps to develop its thriving IT& IT enabled services industry,” Maha Rashad, acting CEO of ITIDA, said. “The industry has witnessed great progress in terms of the number of services offered and the growth of the market especially with the talent outflow and the annual 550+ of university graduates.’, she added.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), the combined IT, BPO, and KPO export market in Egypt is forecast to grow from $3.25 billion in 2017 to $4.7 billion in 2020.
