ROCHESTER, NY — Feb. 19, 2020 — Sutherland, the digital transformation company, today announced that Sutherland Healthcare IT has been appraised at CMMI (Development and Services V1.3) Maturity Level 5 – the highest level attainable – of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®). CMMI is a capability improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.

Appraisal at CMMI Maturity Level 5 indicates the organization is performing at an “Optimizing” level. At this stage of maturity, the organization is focused on continuous improvement of processes based on a quantitative understanding of its business objectives and performance needs. Level 5 organizations are built to pivot and respond to opportunity and change, and their stability provides a platform for agility and innovation.
In June 2018, Sutherland Healthcare IT embarked on its journey to achieve the Level 5 rating, focusing on building a culture of continuous improvement. The achievement allows Sutherland Healthcare IT to strengthen its differentiation in the marketplace and reap many long-term benefits, including increased customer satisfaction through better quality and less rework, resulting in higher levels of customer retention and growth.
Sutherland’s official CMMI® V1.3 multi-model (Development + Services) appraisal was conducted by CUNIX Infotech, a CMMI® Institute Partner, onsite from Nov. 4 through Nov. 16, 2019. The programs contained within the CMMI® Level 5 initiative include domain-centric IT services and platform solutions to healthcare, technology and other industry segments.
