Impacting lives is part of Sutherland's DNA

Impacting lives is part of Sutherland's DNA

DECEMBER 21, 2017

Whether a company addresses the needs of the community, its employees, or the environment, or, a combination of all three, these initiatives must be an integral part of the company and its culture, not add-ons. Sutherland has been doing business this way from the beginning.

As we head into 2018, we reflect on the efforts made worldwide that have a positive impact on the people, communities, and environment.

In the Philippines, Sutherland was awarded two honors by the Clark Development Council, the first as the 2017 Top Employer of the Year and second in recognition of its Corporate Social Responsibility contributions in the local community. Sutherland’s social impact approach of creating jobs in regions and fostering change in the surrounding communities is exemplified in Clark, with employing more than 6,000 people that also dedicate their time and donations to orphanages, geriatric homes, and underprivileged developments.

Sutherland’s industry leadership was recently recognized by ICAP Bulgaria with the TRUE LEADER Award which acknowledges enterprises that simultaneously meet four objective criteria, including growth in number of employees and leadership in the sector. Sutherland Bulgaria was the only company in the industry which met all the four criteria for 2016.

In India, Sutherland received the 2017 WILL Forum Best Employer for Women Benchmarking Award at the WILL Digital Women Conference in Bangalore. The WILL Best Employers for Women Benchmarking Award recognizes companies that provide ecosystems for nurturing and retaining women and their talent in the organization, for best business success and rewards to the society.

“Doing good is part of our DNA. We care about our employees, communities, and planet. It’s what great people do, and by extension, what great organizations do,” says Dan Lang, Senior Vice President.

At Sutherland, we’re doing our part, striving to “impact one life for every employee” and exercising good business practices that we believe are contagious.
